(AP) — The Charlotte Hornets have waived former first-round draft pick Kai Jones just three days after the center/forward announced on social media that he had requested to be traded.Jones was not with the Hornets for training camp, with the team citing “personal reasons” in a statement.The decision came after Jones displayed some bizarre behavior on social media over the last few months, which including criticism of his teammates. Authorities haven’t said exactly what sparked the large police response at BWI Marshall Airport Wednesday afternoon, but a man has been taken into custody.A statement from the Maryland Transportation Authority said, “Based on statements made by the individual, officers took precautionary measures.”Earlier Wednesday while all traffic to the airport was blocked for about an hour, the investigation centered on a suspicious vehicle near the terminal.“I didn’t understand what was going on,” traveler Sarah Raskoff told WTOP’s Mike Murillo, who reported from BWI Marshall. DENVER (KDVR) — Colorado State Patrol is teaming up with multiple agencies across the state this Friday the 13th to increase patrol and crack down on drivers making poor decisions.“So many people are dying on our roads that we are struggling to keep count of that number," said Col. An armed subject who was rushed to the hospital after an officer-involved shooting near Miami Edison Middle School has died, police said, an incident that led officers to take a second armed subject into custody.City of Miami Police and Fire Rescue units responded to the scene of the incident in the area of Northwest Second Avenue and 62nd Street, at around 5:15 p.m., Wednesday.Police said the call initially came in as a man in his 20s found shot in a field.Investigators said the man suffered injuries to his head and leg.Paramedics transported the patient to Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition. Police later confirmed he later succumbed to his injuries.Back at the scene, 7News cameras captured several officers in the field, part of which was cordoned off by crime scene tape.Investigators said they have taken a second armed subject into custody. A New Hampshire State Police trooper and a 36-year-old man from North Chelmsford were taken to a local hospital Wednesday after police said the North Chelmsford man’s car crashed into the trooper’s cruiser on I-93 in Londonderry. State police said emergency crews responded to the scene on I-93 north near Exit 4 shortly after 3:30 p.m. following a report of a crash involving a state police cruiser. Police said the trooper had been parked on the right shoulder of the road with his emergency blue lights activated while he “provided safety services at an active construction site.”The trooper was in the cruiser at the time of the crash, according to police. Police said the Hyundai Elantra driven by the North Chelmsford man was seen driving in the right breakdown lane before hitting the cruiser.State police said the trooper and the North Chelmsford man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
