DENVER (KDVR) -- There is a growing social media campaign that was started by a runner who ran from park to park in Denver and couldn’t find any working drinking water fountains. Jordan Cole, whose handle on TikTok is “Jordan in Denver,” posted a story about his dry run and has had a large response from followers.“Ok I’m in my third Denver city park today let’s see if it has any water,” Cole said on the social media app as he ran through one of the parks.“It’s ridiculous and the middle of summer and look no water,” Cole said as he continued his narration on the TikTok post. Just how long will the heat last in Denver? FOX31's Vicente Arenas met with Cole in person, and he said he went through five parks -- Crestmoor, Robinson, Cranmer, Lindsley and City Park on a recent weekend.None had drinking fountains that worked, Cole said.“I feel like it’s a safety issue as it gets warmer. You see kids everywhere. I was at City Park for this last run and witnessed kids drinking out of t...Firefighters extinguish blaze in flea market area of Lauderhill Swap Shop

The blaze occurred just before 6:30 p.m. Monday and left the home with electrical issues. The Red Cross was called to support the four people that lived in the home. According to officials, the emergency call came in as a potential lightning strike. After arriving at the scene, firefighters reported that the homeowner claimed to witness lightning before the fire started, but experts have not ruled out other possible causes of the electrical problems. As of now, the house remains without electricity and authorities are assessing the situation to determine the exact cause of the fire. Today is the 15th day in a roll that parts of South Florida have been under heat alerts and the hotter than normal temperature stretch continues. An upper-level disturbance keeping plenty of moisture in the air will help fuel along the daytime heat scattered showers and storms early afternoon. Some of the activity that forms could produce heavy rainfall and gusty winds. By Wednesday, steering winds veer out of the East-Southeast and a tropical wave tracks to our South (we will probably get some of its moisture). However, this onshore flow won’t be enough to keep sea breeze driven storms from pushing well inland.More Saharan dust seems to settle into the region for the weekend and that could bring down rain chances. Today in the Tropics: Don is a tropical storm likely to strengthen slightly more remaining over the Central Atlantic.Have a wonderful day South Florida and make it a safe one! U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon is about to shape the course of the 2024 presidential election — and perhaps the fate of the country. On Tuesday, she’ll hear from the lawyers hoping to influence her as she decides how and when former President Donald Trump will stand trial on charges that he amassed classified national security secrets at his private home. The hearing, set to take place at Cannon’s home courthouse in Fort Pierce, Fla., is the first one she’s held in the case that began when federal prosecutors led by special counsel Jack Smith indicted Trump last month. Earlier court sessions were held in Miami by federal magistrate judges.Tuesday’s session was originally billed as the first chance for the attorneys to discuss how they intend to handle the voluminous classified material expected to be evidence in the case. But Cannon recently signaled she will also address the broader trial schedule — one that pits Trump’s demand for a delay until after the 2024 presiden...Russia says Crimean bridge partially open to cars a day after attack

BRUSSELS (AP) — High anxiety set in on the closing day of a summit between European Union and Latin American leaders that was supposed to be a love-in but turned into a diplomatic fracas over the war in Ukraine. Ambassadors worked through much of the night and into Tuesday morning to find even the blandest text to condemn Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, with talks hung up over the reservations of some Central and South American nations such as Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, which was running the toughest opposition at the summit.“It would be a shame that we are not able to say that there is Russian aggression in Ukraine. It’s a fact. And I’m not here to rewrite history,” an exasperated Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel said. Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar pushed it even further. “Sometimes it’s better to have no conclusions at all than to have language that doesn’t mean anything,” he said.More than one EU leader suspected that Moscow was involved in sowing divisio...Germans should emulate southern Europeans’ siesta during heat waves, public health group says

The highest temperature so far this year, 38.8 degrees Celsius (101.8 degrees Fahrenheit), was recorded in Bavaria on Saturday. Since then, the heat has receded.Still, this summer’s high temperatures have been enough to prompt the head of the BVOeGD association, which represents public health officers across Germany, to propose that the country rethink its working habits during heat waves.“We should orient ourselves ...Bankruptcy slams the brakes on Dutch e-bike manufacturer VanMoof
