Happy Friday, South Florida!Hopefully everyone had a great end to the week. Other than a spotty shower or two earlier this morning, rain chances were at a minimum with plenty of sunshine to go around. This allowed temperatures to reach the mid to low 90s with a nice breeze in place. This evening South Florida will continue with very quiet conditions , as we remain mainly dry ahead of the weekend.Speaking of the weekend, lower rain chances will leak into the start of it. On Saturday a few spotty showers will be possible, especially across inland areas in the afternoon. Emergency crews responded in Gloucester after a car slammed into an ice cream shop on Washington Street Friday. The crash happened at Carl’s Cones at the corner of Washington Street and Grove Street and was caught on camera by nearby surveillance video. The driver was taken to a hospital. The shop, officials said, was closed at the time of the crash because of rainy weather, meaning no one was inside. “That’s good because they’re usually open all the time,” said neighbor Patrick Hunt.Video shared with 7NEWS showed the car involved in this crash first come around a corner before drifting off the road and smashing into the building. Neighbors said they heard a loud bang at the moment of impact and soon saw the car in the front of the shop.“Obviously, it’s pretty insane when the ice cream place right next to you has a car through it,” Hunt said. Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey is sounding off against the harassment of witnesses in the ongoing, high-profile murder case involving a woman accused of killing her boyfriend, a Boston police officer, last year. In a video statement posted online, Morrisey said of the witnesses, “To have them accused of murder is outrageous. To have them harassed and intimidated based on false narratives and accusations is wrong. They are witnesses doing what our justice systems asks of them.”“We try people in the court and not on the internet for a reason,” he continued. “The internet has no rules of evidence. The internet has no punishment for perjury and the internet does not know all the facts.” Prosecutors have said Karen Read ran over her boyfriend, John OâKeefe, with her SUV in January, 2022 after a night of drinking. Read, prosecutors said, then left the scene. She maintains her innocence and says he was attacked by a...Lawsuit claims Trump ineligible for presidency because of his role in insurrection

A South Florida lawyer has filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump seeking to have the former president declared ineligible to run for another term as president. The lawsuit, citing Trump’s involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection, wants the federal courts to enforce the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, added after the Civil War to prevent people who engaged in rebellion against the United States from holding office again.Lawrence Caplan’s lawsuit asserts the provision clearly applies to Trump:“President Trump’s efforts both in Washington, as well as in Georgia and perhaps other states, as well as the consequential assault on the U.S. Capitol … make him ineligible to ever serve in federal office again. Now given that the facts seem to be crystal clear that Trump was involved to some extent in the insurrection that took place on January 6th, the sole remaining question is whether American jurists who swear an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution upon their entry to the bench, wil...How much rain has San Diego had this year to date?
