Brandon Gunnoe has the story.Susan Noto-Moniz never looked back after trying contact lenses.“I’ve been wearing my contacts since I was 23 because I was getting married and I didn’t want to be walking down the aisle with glasses,” Susan said. The Weymouth woman says they’re now a daily essential.“From the time I get up in the morning to the time I go to sleep, I really have very poor vision. I’d be bumping into things if I didn’t have my contacts,” Susan said.So she recently ordered ten boxes of disposable contacts from an online company.“I don’t want to ever be in the situation where I run out. It would be traumatic for me,” Susan said. But she only received four boxes.“I really was a little kind of freaked out. While trying to explain why his team became an utter disappointment, Mavs owner Mark Cuban took aim at Jalen Brunson’s father.Cuban told reporters that his contract negotiations with Brunson turned sour last season “when the parents got involved,” according to ESPN. It was a reference to Rick Brunson, now an assistant with the Knicks.Jalen Brunson left the Mavericks in free agency to join his father with the Knicks, signing a four-year, $104 million contract. His absence in Dallas is frequently cited as the main reason for the team’s downfall after advancing to the conference finals.Clearly, Cuban remains bitter. The owner also refuted reports that the Mavericks could’ve signed Brunson before the trade deadline last year for three years, $55 million. He repeated that Dallas was never given an opportunity to re-sign Brunson in the summer. The Knicks were cited for tampering with Brunson and docked a second-round pick, a minuscule punishment considering the...Malcolm Brogdon leads the way as Celtics hold off Raptors, clinch No. 2 seed in East

When the Celtics dropped three consecutive games to the Warriors last June to lose the NBA Finals, it was clear they needed another playmaking guard and scoring punch off the bench to help them get over the hump.A few weeks later, Brad Stevens addressed it when he orchestrated a trade with the Pacers for Malcolm Brogdon in what was viewed as one of the best moves of the summer across the league. As the regular season winds down, that deal has proven to be worth the hype. Brogdon is the frontrunner to be named the NBA’s sixth man of the year and a significant reason why the Celtics are championship favorites when they begin their playoff pursuit next week.Wednesday was yet another big mark on Brogdon’s sixth man candidacy. With Jayson Tatum out as he continues to nurse a nagging hip injury and gets some extra rest before the playoffs and Jaylen Brown struggling through a tough shooting night, a shorthanded Celtics squad once again showed why they’re so much more than their two All-Sta...Nets’ magic number to clinch 6th seed moves to 1 after defeating Detroit Pistons

They’re one step closer to grabbing the sixth seed. The Nets went into Detroit needing two wins to lock up the final guaranteed playoff spot and they are halfway to achieving that goal after defeating the Pistons, 123-108, at Little Caesars Arena. The Nets (44-36) easily exceeded their season’s points per game average (113.5) and handed the lowly Pistons (16-64) their 22nd loss in 23 games, further giving Dwane Casey’s team the best odds to be suitors to win the Victor Wembanyama sweepstakes.Spencer Dinwiddie led the charge for the away team, totaling 10 assists in the first quarter. He’s the only player in the league to do so this season and the third in franchise history (Jason Kidd and Robert Pack). He finished with six points and tied his career-high with 16 assists in 33 minutes.Four of those assists went to Joe Harris, who subbed in after Cam Johnson limped off the court after bumping knees with Jaden Ivey in the first quarter. After 80 games, the Chicago Bulls still are struggling to fix a fundamental problem in their offense — how to shake themselves out of a funk. The final week of the regular season has featured a series of slow starts — falling into a 15-point hole Sunday against the Memphis Grizzlies, starting 2-for-9 Tuesday against the Atlanta Hawks and opening 2-for-13 against the Bucks on Wednesday in Milwaukee. This isn’t particularly new. The Bulls average 26 first-quarter points, second-lowest in the league according to Swish analytics. They’re able to offset these low-scoring starts with their defense, resulting in a plus-0.7 average first-quarter margin. But when the Bulls open a game even colder than normal, it’s easy for them to slip quickly behind.Sometimes the Bulls wake up suddenly and dramatically in the second half, such as their scorching comeback Sunday for a 44-point swing to beat the Grizzlies. But more often this season, a slow opening quarter has left...Five storylines centered around the likely upcoming Knicks, Cavaliers first-round playoff matchup
