Twelve-year-old Garrison Green is unlike any other preteen you'll meet. While having brain surgery is not something every young boy can say they've conquered, it's his attitude and zest for life that really sets him apart. The San Diego County native has been playing baseball since he was young and fell in love with the sport. "Baseball is more than a game," Garrison said. “I pitch, I play first base and I play outfield. I love the game of baseball so much. I’ve been playing for as long as I can remember.”“When Garrison is on the mound, I feel like everyone is pretty confident that this inning will be pretty quick," said Ezekiel Gachalian, or EZ as his teammates call him. He's been playing with Garrison for about six years.Garrison Green (KSWB)Garrison says he focuses on two words, which are stitched on his glove: attitude and effort. FREMONT — A big industrial and research building in Fremont has been bought in a deal that shows that while the Bay Area office market wobbles in a post-coronavirus era, other commercial property types still entice investors.Prologis bought the Fremont building from Blackstone for slightly under $86.6 million, according to documents filed on July 20 with the Alameda County Recorder’s Office. The purchase was completed in the wake of an announcement by the two real estate titans that Prologis had agreed to buy from Blackstone a nationwide portfolio of industrial and research buildings.“We’re pleased to be working with Blackstone on this deal,” said Dan Letter, Prologis president. That transaction, revealed in late June, was valued at $3.1 billion, Prologis and Blackstone stated. This acquisition expands Prologis’ presence in several key markets coast-to-coast, including the Bay Area, Central Valley and Southern California.Related ArticlesReal Estate |...Pac-12 survival: Conference’s future hinges on Kliavkoff media rights proposal

The future of a 108-year-old college athletic conference could be determined in the next 24 hours as the Pac-12’s existential crisis reaches its tipping point.Commissioner George Kliavkoff on Tuesday is expected to present a media rights proposal to the nine remaining university presidents for approval, concluding a saga that began last summer when the Los Angeles schools announced their departure to the Big Ten in 2024.But how will it end?If the proposal carries satisfactory revenue and media partners, the schools are expected to plow forward together for the remainder of the decade, perhaps with replacements for the three outgoing members, USC, UCLA and Colorado. If Kliavkoff is unable to secure a media deal that satisfies the presidents, the conference as we know it would cease to exist. As many as three schools could join the Big 12, which is currently targeting Arizona but is believed to desire Arizona State and Utah, as well. That would leave six in limbo: Stanford, Cal, Oregon, ...ACLU, justice groups sue Santa Clara County court alleging unfair jailings

The ACLU and a Stanford legal clinic are suing the Santa Clara County Superior Court, alleging it forces poor people wanted on low-level warrants to be jailed just so they can get in front of a judge who will likely decide they don’t belong in jail. The lawsuit filed Monday contends that the South Bay is out of step with a multitude of other California county courts that allow people wanted for non-violent arrest warrants to voluntarily appear in court, without first going to jail, to sort out their warrants as well as their eligibility for remaining free.As a consequence of the Santa Clara County court policy, the lawsuit asserts, people with arrest warrants who can’t afford their bail amount must surrender and be admitted into jail before they can get assigned a court date and have the chance to argue for why they should be out of custody while their case is adjudicated. The suit lists Nikolaus Jackson O’Neill Rogge and the civil-rights group Silicon Valley De-Bug as pla...Tesla crashes with teen behind the wheel in Santa Rosa
