MIAMI (AP) — Trae Young made some history. So did Duncan Robinson, and that was the difference for Miami.Tyler Herro scored 30 points, Robinson had 21 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter and the Heat withstood another big night from Young on the way to a 122-113 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.Robinson tied the most points he ever scored in a quarter; he also had 21 in the second quarter of a Heat win over Cleveland on Nov. 20, 2019.“It shows you how much he’s improved all across the board,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.Young finished with 30 points and 13 assists for the Hawks — his sixth consecutive game with at least 30 points and 10 assists. That ties the second-longest such streak in NBA history, one that only Oscar Robertson has topped.Robertson had such a streak twice — a six-game stretch in January 1964, then a seven-game stretch spanning December 1964 to January 1965. Published Fri, 07 Feb 2025 12:15:49 GMT

(CNN) — Scientists in California shooting nearly 200 lasers at a cylinder holding a fuel capsule the size of a peppercorn have taken another step in the quest for fusion energy, which, if mastered, could provide the world with a near-limitless source of clean power.Last year on a December morning, scientists at the National Ignition Facility at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California (LLNL) managed, in a world first, to produce a nuclear fusion reaction that released more energy than it used, in a process called “ignition.”Now they say they have successfully replicated ignition at least three times this year, according to a December report from the LLNL. This marks another significant step in what could one day be an important solution to the global climate crisis, driven primarily by the burning of fossil fuels. For decades, scientists have attempted to harness fusion energy, essentially recreating the power of the sun on Earth. After making their historic net energy...
